  (a) The 2005-06 Commonwealth budget eliminates $11,536,000 in state funding from Penn State's appropriation bill for the three medical line items appropriations. It proposes to replace these funds with payments directly from the PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW), consisting of a combination of Commonwealth appropriations to the DPW, as well as Federal Medical Assistance funding. The 2005-06 total appropriation for Penn State (per House Bill 824) was $312,026,000.
